Consequently, the department members strive, to ensure that the learners have a good grasp of it for its own sake and for easy comprehension of other subjects. On Mondays, we have language time in the evening when the students hold inter-class debates, literature quizzes and practice negotiation skills among others. These helps them develop speech skills and build confidence. The students attend inter-schools English and Literature symposia and participate in national essay-writing competitions. We are proud that we have students taking some of the prestigious courses because they can communicate coherently.
