Department
The department comprises of four subjects namely
1. Mathematics
2. Chemistry
3. Biology
4. Physics
Mathematics and chemistry are compulsory to all students from form one to form four.
Biology and physics are compulsory to students in form one, but in form two to form four they are optional.
Objectives
1. To equip students with scientific knowledge and manipulative skills to enable them to understand their environment.
2. To prepare the students for kenya certificate of secondary education (kcse) examination.
3. To prepare students for science oriented courses offered in universities and other tertiary institute of learning.
Facilities
Students are taught in large spacious classrooms for the theory lessons while practical lessons are done in a fully equipped science laboratory.
Information technology mode of delivery of subject content is employed both in theory and practical lessons.
Staffing
The department is well staffed with seven profesional teachers and one experienced laboratory technicians who assists in preparation of practical lessons. Apart from teaching the department also gives an opportunity to apply the knowledge they have learned in class by participating in science and mathematics club.
